For most engagements, we can begin within 2–3 weeks of a signed agreement. We maintain a small pipeline of upcoming work specifically to avoid long lead times for new clients. If you have a hard start date, tell us in your message and we will be upfront about whether we can meet it.
Both — but with a realistic filter. Startups with a defined problem, a reasonable budget, and a technical decision-maker in the conversation get our full attention. We do not do very early-stage discovery or pre-revenue ideation work. If you are post-seed or later and have a real engineering problem, we want to hear from you.
Most engagements run 8–24 weeks depending on scope. We start with a 2-week discovery and architecture phase, followed by iterative delivery sprints with weekly written updates, shared Slack access, and bi-weekly demos. Every engagement ends with a 30-day hypercare period and full knowledge transfer documentation.
Client IP is fully owned by the client. We sign mutual NDAs before any discovery conversation. All code, documentation, and deliverables produced during an engagement are transferred to you at project completion. We retain no license to your systems or data.
Yes — most of our long-term clients start on a project basis and transition to monthly retainers for platform support, monitoring, model retraining, and iterative feature development. Retainer pricing is structured around your actual needs, not padded with hours you won't use.
Our typical project minimum is $25K CAD. Below that threshold, the overhead of scoping, contracting, and delivery does not leave enough room for the quality of work we are committed to. That said, reach out regardless — if your problem is well-defined and in scope, we will always give you an honest answer.
Yes. While we are headquartered in Calgary and most of our clients are Canadian, we work with clients across the US, UK, and Australia. Engagements are conducted remotely. Contracts are denominated in CAD or USD depending on client preference and jurisdiction.
